The Lynx yellobrik CHD 1412 is a versatile, compact HDMI-to-SDI converter with an integrated frame synchronizer. It is ideal for applications requiring a fully synchronized SDI input from an asynchronous HDMI source. The device features a flexible reference sync input that supports analog video sync formats such as SD bi-level sync, black burst, colorbars, and tri-level sync. Automatic detection and cross-lock compatibility allow, for example, the frequency locking of an HD HDMI input with an SDTV reference signal. Without a reference, the converter performs a standard asynchronous HDMI-to-SDI conversion or locks onto the HDMI input signal. The device enables embedding a stereo audio pair into any AES channel and supports both professional balanced and unbalanced consumer line-level audio inputs. PCM and AC3 audio from HDMI streams are transparently passed through and embedded into the SDI output in self-lock mode "Ref Source = Auto / HDMI". The CHD 1412 is compatible with LynxCentraal and yelloGUI software packages, which offer additional settings such as adjustable video delay for timing purposes. An SDI fiber output is also available with various optional SFP modules. For legal reasons, the CHD 1412 does not process content from HDCP-protected sources such as satellite or cable receivers.
