The Sonnet Thunderbolt AVB GE Adapter enables fully synchronized audio and video streaming with low latency over Ethernet through the Audio Video Bridging (AVB) protocol, crucial for Avid Pro Tools. This is supported by the Broadcom BCM57762 GbE Controller, compatible with IEEE 802.AS, 1588-2008, P802.1Qat, and P802.1Qav standards. Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) and support for virtual LANs (VLAN) according to IEEE 802.1q VLAN are also provided, along with Wake-on-LAN (WOL) support. The bus interface is 40 Gbit/s Thunderbolt. Network support includes 1000BASE-T and 100BASE-TX with supported data rates of 1 GBit/s and 100 MBit/s. The maximum packet size is 9000 bytes. Additionally, the system is AVDECC compatible and supports Receive Side Scaling (RSS), Large Receive Offload (LRO), TCP Segmentation Offload (TSO), as well as TCP-, UDP-, and IPv4 checksum offloading.
